"FOOT STOMPING IRISH DRINKING MUSIC - SURE TO GET THE PEOPLE MOVING"
Whether you need an uplifting and energetic band for the Weekend or a refined celebratory set for St. Paddy's Day or over Christmas time - THE P'HOGUES are able to entertain for any occasion, with their authentic covers of all The Pogues' top hits and catchiest of tunes.
The Pogues were a British/Irish Punk Band that played traditional and original compositions, injected with catchy hooks and head rocking enthusiasm. The band was comprised of the legendary Shane MacGowan on Vocals, Spider Stacy on the Whistle, Andrew Rankin on Drums, Terry Woods on Cittern, Darryl Hunt on Bass, Jem Finer on Banjo and James Fearnley on Accordion - but split up in 2014 after the death of their beloved guitarist, Philip Chevron.
Songs like Streams of Whiskey, Fairytale of New York, Whiskey in the Jar, Fiesta, Broad Majestic Shannon, The Irish Rover and Pair of Brown Eyes (among many, many more) - are perfect to celebrate life in general and evoke happy memories, while providing an atmosphere sure to keep the crowd merry, jigging and drinking.
THE P'HOGUES are based in County Somerset, UK and are happy to travel. This group of committed members are easily set to be the premier (And only!!) Pogues tribute act within Somerset and hopefully beyond. We have a PA system and all our own equipment.
We dress like The Pogues, we sound like The Pogues and we have the same outlook on life as The Pogues! Did we mention we play music by The Pogues!!??
Our main goals as a band, are to both enable people to have a good time, whilst enjoying ourselves too and having a craic. So don your flat cap, get ready to move, stock up on Guiness, and Tullamore Dew...then let THE P'HOGUES do the rest!
(Cheers in Irish)
Keep an eye out for future videos of us playing live!
